God Answers Prayer!

Matt. 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be

opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;

and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his

son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”(KJV)

Our God is loving Heavenly Father who delights in giving good gifts to His children! He is like an earthly parent who buys a very special birthday or Christmas present for his child, knowing the joy that that gift will bring! Jesus taught us to “ask… and keep on asking”, “seek, and keep on seeking,” “knock, and keep on knocking”, because if we ask, we will receive! If we seek, we will find! If we keep on knocking, the door shall be opened! (Matt 7:7-8).

Some may say, “oh, I don’t believe that…” Well, if that’s you, don’t worry about it. You

expect nothing and you will not be disappointed! If you do not seek, you will certainly not find. If you never knock, then don’t blame the person on the other side of the door for not opening it to you!

When we pray, we need to pray in faith (James 1:6). We need to be persistent (Luke

18:1-7). We need to pray according to God’s will – which means we are to pray

according to God’s Word (1 John 5:14-15). We also need to add the element of

thanksgiving to our requests and petitions to Him (Col. 4:2). Thanksgiving is like adding solid rocket boosters to your prayer – they increase its thrust, its lift towards heaven, and its power to get answers!

In fact, God is more willing to answer our prayers that we are willing to pray them most of the time! Jesus told His disciples,

“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

(Luke 12:32, KJV).

God takes great pleasure in GIVING us His kingdom, and all that it contains! His

Kingdom comes as free gift. It contains both natural and spiritual blessings and

provisions. His Kingdom provides for every aspect of our lives – spirit, soul, and body!

God can answer big requests and petitions, as well as small ones. Nothing is harder or easier for Him, since our God is infinite in love, mercy, grace, wisdom, knowledge, and power! We must always remember the words of Jesus, as recorded in Mark’s gospel…

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that

believeth.” (Mark 9:23)
